Alternative Breaks (AB) Damar Services Trip
We are a service trip through Alternative Breaks at UC San Diego.
Our team will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana on March 21-29, 2015 to work with our partnership organization, Damar Services. Damar Services is an organization dedicated to helping people challenged by autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities and related behavioral challenges to live more successful lives. We will be the fifth group from UCSD to help assist Damar Services.
In preparation for this trip - we will be training and learning more about this social justice issue. This includes participating in related service within our San Diego community.
During our service trip we will be involved in several projects and activities that include working with clients in the classroom and gym as well as helping the organization prepare for upcoming events.
Although our team has many diverse reasons for joining and personal goals, we share the common goals of wanting to gain a better understanding of people with disabilities and working on breaking through the stigma of disability by increasing awareness about this social justice issue.
